No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield

“People see what they expect to see. Once they think they know who you are, their ideas are a ghost that floats ahead of you into every room, waiting until you arrive and then clinging all over you, grimy, opaque. It builds up around you over the course of a lifetime, layer by layer, until the ghost you, made of other people’s judgments, is all anyone sees.”

Lizzy is a woman people love to hate because they always have. She’s poor, grew up in a junkyard, and “tricked” the hometown hero into marrying her.

Adrienne is a woman people love to hate because she parades her filthy rich lifestyle as a social media “influencer” (and wife of a disgraced billionaire).

They should have nothing in common except the lake house Adrienne rents from Lizzy. But as they talk, they find common ground in their equal but different needs for attention, acceptance, and security.

The book starts with Lizzy’s murder and doesn’t touch the brakes. I gobbled up this character-driven, fast-paced thriller. I loved that one of the narrators is the murder victim, telling her side of events from beyond the grave.

The Audiobook performance is stellar with three actors: Cassandra Campbell (smooth Connecticut enunciation), Sophie Amoss (Snarky, scrappy, whip-smart Lizzy), and Chris Andrew Ciulla (unflappable Maine State Police investigator).

Do you enjoy a twisty, female-led thriller?
